  • All workshops (except February 2, 2012) start at 8:30 AM and conclude by 4:30 PM.

  • Lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided.

The Marketing Freedom for Grain Farmers Act takes effect on August 1, 2012. This means barley and wheat producers will have a choice between selling their grain on the open market or through the Canadian Wheat Board. To help producers make a smooth transition, the Government of Alberta is hosting information sessions across the province.

Battle River Watershed Alliance

The Battle River Watershed Alliance (BRWA) would like to invite you to our Drought and Watershed Management workshop, to be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM) in Forestburg (at the Forestburg Community Centre).

This workshop will provide an opportunity for watershed residents, stakeholders, and municipalities to:

  • Hear back on "what we heard" during the BRWA's November 2011 community workshops (learn more about the community workshops on the Battle River Watershed website.)

  • Help prioritize issue areas to be addressed in the BRWA's watershed management planning process (learn more about this process on the Battle River Watershed website.)

  • Learn more about the BRWA's work over the last year related to drought management planning in our watersheds; and

  • Hear from an expert in climate change research, David Sauchyn.
